Curriculum

Students in the classroom at Mackellar Girls

Mackellar Girls campus offers an extensive range of subjects in our curriculum pattern for all year groups. Most of the curriculum for Years 7 and 8 is mandated by the Board of Studies. There is some degree of choice in the curriculum for Years 9 and 10 and the only subject that is mandatory for Years 11 and 12 is English.

 

 

 

The following information gives specific detail on the courses offered in each year group:

Year 7 - English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, Technology, Visual Arts, Music, Religious Studies, Languages other than English (LOTE) and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE).


Year 8 - English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, Technology, Visual Arts, Music, Religious Studies, a choice of LOTE (French, German or Japanese), PDHPE and Dance.


Years 9 and 10
- English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History and PDHPE are all mandatory subjects. Students at Mackellar Girls also choose 3 electives from the following subjects:
Dance, Visual Arts, Drama, Japanese, Commerce, Information Systems Technology, Food Technology, Music, French, Physical and Sports Studies, Textiles Technology, German and Design and Technology


Years 11 and 12
- Senior students at Mackellar Girls Campus are able to access a comprehensive range of courses from both our campus and the other campuses that make up the Northern Beaches Secondary College. All of the courses offered to students at Mackellar Girls are detailed in the Senior Studies Guide and the Course Lines (refer to Year 11)
