Student Leadership

Mackellar Girls Campus Leadership groups in Years 8-12 have been expanded and these groups support the Head Teacher Girls’ Education in establishing effective transition of Year 6 students into high school through the Open Days and Orientation Day. Year 9 students are involved in leadership mentoring with Year 7 and year 8 students, Year 10 undergo an extensive Peer Support training, Year 11 Peer Support leaders manage the transition program for Year 7 at the start of the school year and the Year 12 captains and prefects run many programs in the school during their tenure.

The SRC has been given additional support through the establishment of an SRC pastoral care group which provides them with an opportunity to meet together each day. During 2005 this group has attended youth forums and conferences to enhance their leadership development.

Year 7 students have the opportunity to be part of a Year 7 Leadership group which facilitate in important school days where visitors come to the school. They also have the opportunity to take up Leadership roles through being a Library Monitor or organising fundraising for the year.

Mackellar Girls' Campus is committed to providing leadership training and leadership opportunities for students. These take the following forms:
