Vitamacs
Yr12 Business Services operates a VITAMACS Practice Firm and Simulated Retail Shop one 80 minute period per week. It is a fully set up office with phone, fax, computers, photocopier, laminator, filing cabinets and ergonomically designed desks and chairs.
The mission of the practice firm is to see Vitamins and Health products aimed at the workplace to other practice firms (which include other schools and TAFEs).
The practice firm is sponsored by a long term business partner – Blackmores Ltd (natural health vitamins and health products).
It is a virtual (simulated) company so no money or goods exchange hands, but the administrative tasks and paperwork that accompany running a business occurs eg: purchase orders, invoicing, brochures, trade fairs and bookkeeping.
Students gain skills in Sales & marketing, Administration, Finance and Human Resources.
The students gain competencies towards Certificate II in Business Services.
It is a diverse part of a VET curriculum with AQF accreditation and links to TAFE and other practice firms nationally.
